The Pied Bat or Badger Bat (Niumbaha superba)

The Pied Bat or Badger Bat (Niumbaha superba) – kind of bats of the family Vespertilionidae (Vespertilionidae).

Although this first bat that color reminds panda, scientists have observed in the Sudan in 1939, but only now they were able to describe and identify the type, called Niumbaha superba. While the view was placed in the genus Glauconycteris under the name Glauconycteris superba. After the study identified it as a separate genus, named Niumbaha, Zande language that means "rare."

The species is distributed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and South Sudan. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry or wet lowland forests.

Is threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation.
