"The guards of Night"

On Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 15.00 hours. in Zoological Museum of Biological Faculty Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Hrushevskyy Str. 4) held a master class in painting birds (owls) of famous Ukrainian animal artist Ihor Zemlyanskych and presentation of popular books about owls "The guards of Night". The master class and presentation done under the "feathered friends" that brings together professionals and hobbyists who are studying birds as well as within the XXII Publishers Forum, which was held these days in Lviv.

The action was attended by about 50 participants of different ages. Presentation of the book took place in the hall of the Museum of birds, and a workshop - held in the large auditorium of the Faculty of Biological, where participants had the opportunity to sit at the desk and try myself in drawing owls, including the most representative of our avifauna - Eagle Owl. During the master class artist spoke about some secret realistic images of birds and showed in practice how drawing is performed.

The presented book "The guards of Night" written by Yegor Yatsyuk the Kharkiv ornithologist and illustrated by Ihor Zemlyanskych. It is dedicated to a mysterious group of our birds - Owls and contains information about the biology and ecology, as well as specific descriptions Strigiformes of Ukraine. 48 pages edition contains 70 color illustrations.

In sign of gratitude, the authors of the action presented the Museum a picture with the image of bird of prey – Honey-Buzzard performed by Ihor Zemlyanskych.
