September 1 – Day of Memory of species exterminated by man. On this day in 1914 in the zoo of the city of Cincinnati (USA)was died last Passenger pigeon – the most numerous species of birds ever exterminated by man.

This sad date – a reminder that the animals usual to us that we thoughtlessly exploit and destroy, or transform a place of their usual existence, tomorrow may be added to the blacklist species disappeared forever.

On this day, everyone has the opportunity to appeal to own conscience. Because missing species will never recover either in the wild or in zoos. However, you can still save the others, whom mankind has not had time to destroy.

Lists of disappeared species – are significant, they can visit the Red Book of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
